At least eight victims have been kidnapped in Biresawa village of Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State.

A witness told journalists in Kano that abductors went away with two male and six female persons during the operation on Monday night.

Although the details of the operation were still sketchy as at press time, a relative of one of the victims, Kabiru Usman, said the kidnappers came in through neighbouring Tsundu village.

“They came on foot, armed with guns. They kidnapped my wife, Umma; my 17-year-old daughter, Fati; my brother’s wife, and two other women,” Usman lamented.

“We tried to stop them, but our weapons were no match for them as they were carrying superior guns,” he said.

Kano State’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, had not responded to calls put across to him as at the time of filing this report.

It could be recalled that not long ago, bandits attacked Faruruwa community in the border area of Shanono Local Government Area of Kano, abducting five women, including nursing mothers.
