Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru has felicitated all Muslims as they commemorate the solemn festival of faith, obedience, sacrifice, and trust in Almighty Allah.

In this message, he urged the Muslims to see Sallah as not merely a celebration, but a profound spiritual reminder of the virtues of sacrifice, humility, compassion, obedience, and absolute submission to the will of Allah.

“The story of Prophet Mohammed teaches humanity that true faith is demonstrated not only by words, but by the willingness to make sacrifices for Allah and for the good of others”, he said.

Insisting that such an event should be leveraged for national interest, the governor said “as we celebrate, I urge our Muslim brothers and sisters to renew their commitment to the values of peace, forgiveness, brotherhood, and peaceful coexistence.

“Let us continue to look beyond our religious, ethnic, and political differences and recognise the divine bond that makes us one people under God.

“As governor, I remain deeply committed to building an Ebonyi State where every citizen, irrespective of faith, ethnicity, social status, or political affiliation, enjoys equal dignity, security, opportunity and a sense of belonging.

“Our administration’s People’s Charter of Needs remains anchored on the conviction that governance must translate into tangible improvements in the lives of our people.

“The season of Sallah should, therefore, inspire us to extend hands of fellowship to the poor, vulnerable, the displaced, widows, orphans, and less privileged members of our communities. The joy of celebration becomes more meaningful when it is shared with those who have little or nothing.

“I also call on our people to continue supporting the peace and security of our dear state. No meaningful development can thrive where there is hatred, violence, and division.

We must continue to choose dialogue over confrontation, love over bitterness, unity over division, and development over destruction.

“I commend the Ebonyi Muslim community for their contributions to the peace, progress, and development of our state. Your faith, resilience, and patriotism remain valuable assets to our collective journey.

“It is my earnest prayer that the Almighty Allah accept our sacrifices, forgive our shortcomings, answer our prayers, strengthen our families, bless our state, and grant Nigeria enduring peace, prosperity, and stability, even as I pray this Sallah brings renewed hope to our people, abundance to our homes, healing to the afflicted, and greater unity of our nation”.
