The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, has ordered a massive deployment of security personnel across the state ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the police commissioner directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), tactical commanders and other operational units to ensure watertight security arrangements throughout the festive period.
The CP also felicitated with Muslim faithful, urging them to use the occasion to pray for peace, progress and security in Oyo State and the country at large.

He further advised residents to remain law-abiding and celebrate responsibly in line with existing laws.
The statement noted that tactical teams, detectives, intelligence operatives and conventional police personnel had been strategically deployed to worship centres, recreational facilities, public gatherings, highways and hinterlands across the state to prevent criminal activities and ensure the safety of residents and travellers during the celebration.
Olugbenga reaffirmed the command’s commitment to the protection of lives and property, while calling on members of the public to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could aid proactive policing and crime prevention.
