The Katsina Police Command says it has taken comprehensive security measures to ensure peaceful, orderly and hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebrations across the state.
“The deployment comprises conventional police officers, tactical units, traffic personnel and undercover operatives working in synergy with sister security agencies,” the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, said in a press statement on Tuesday.
According to the statement: “The command has deployed personnel and assets to key locations, including Eid prayer grounds, recreational centres, parks and event venues, among others, to maintain law and order before, during and after the festivities.

“The operation is focused on crowd management at prayer grounds and public gatherings, traffic control and management on major routes to prevent gridlock, intelligence gathering and surveillance to forestall security threats, as well as enforcement of existing laws on illegal use of fireworks, reckless driving, and public disorder, among others.
“The command urges residents to cooperate with security personnel on duty and comply with lawful directives and report any suspicious persons, objects or activities promptly through the command’s emergency lines.”
