Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Governor of Bauchi State, has extended warm wishes to Muslims in Bauchi State, Nigeria, and around the world on the occasion of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr celebration, calling for unity, compassion, and vigilance.

In a goodwill message sent through Comrade Muktar Gidado, his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, the governor, while marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan, expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting the faithful the strength, patience, and devotion to fulfil the fasting obligation.

Mohammed described Eid el-Fitr as more than a festive period, noting that it is a time for reflection, renewal, and recommitment to the core values of Islam.

He urged citizens to sustain virtues such as compassion, humility, generosity, discipline, and kindness cultivated during Ramadan.

“True success lies not only in observing Ramadan but in embodying its teachings throughout the year,” the governor said, encouraging continued support for the less privileged and vulnerable in society.

He also called on citizens to emulate the exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad, describing his life as a model of mercy, justice, and humility.

The governor commended religious leaders, scholars, and imams for their dedication during Ramadan, highlighting their role in promoting moral values, unity, and peaceful coexistence. He urged them to sustain their efforts in guiding society.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to unity, Mohammed noted Bauchi State’s tradition of peaceful coexistence among diverse ethnic and religious groups and called for continued tolerance and mutual respect.

On security, he urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies by providing timely information, stressing that safeguarding lives and property is a shared responsibility.

As his administration approaches the end of its second term, the governor appreciated the people of Bauchi State for their support and pledged to consolidate achievements while delivering more dividends of democracy, particularly in sustainable development and improved welfare.

He also acknowledged prevailing economic challenges and assured citizens of ongoing efforts to ease hardship through social protection programmes and investments in agriculture, infrastructure, and human capital development.

Mohammed expressed optimism that the resilience and faith of the people would see them through current challenges, urging them to embrace hope and gratitude during the Eid celebrations.

He concluded with prayers for the acceptance of acts of worship, forgiveness, and the opportunity to witness more celebrations in peace and prosperity, wishing all a joyous and peaceful Eid el-Fitr.
