The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has stated that the Commission is fighting corruption and internet crimes to protect the future of students across the country, urging them to be more committed to this cause.

The EFCC boss made this statement in Abuja when students of Britmax International School visited the EFCC’s headquarters on a study tour.

Represented by the Head of EFCC 97.3 FM Radio Station, Deputy Commander of the EFCC (DCE) Nwanyinma Okeanu, the EFCC boss said the fight against corruption is aimed at eradicating vices from society.

He emphasised that the mandate of the EFCC, since its inception, is to combat economic and financial crimes and address the anomalies affecting the future and dreams of every Nigerian, especially youths, ensuring that every young person is treated fairly.

“The job of the EFCC is to sanitise our financial space and ensure that everyone is treated equally.

“The EFCC is an organisation that fights for the people and restores the good things of the country.

“The fight against economic and financial crimes starts with you as a student, teacher, and parent,” she said.

The Head of the Enlightenment and Re-orientation Unit, Assistant Commander of the EFCC (ACE II) Aisha Mohammed, urged the students to be good ambassadors and representatives of the Commission by spreading the anti-corruption message to everyone they encounter.

She said, “You are all important stakeholders of the Commission. Always have a positive spirit and remember that your voices matter in this fight. Be a change agent wherever you are.

“This engagement focuses on shaping and orienting the mindsets of young people to be good ambassadors of their families and the Commission at large.”
