Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 have arrested 120 suspected internet fraudsters, including 95 males and 25 females, across various locations in Lagos.
The operation took place on Monday, May 19, following credible intelligence and weeks of surveillance on their alleged cybercrime activities.
EFCC Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrests to Daily Sun in Abuja. He stated, “The suspects were arrested on Monday, May 19, 2025, following credible intelligence and thorough surveillance regarding their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud.”
Items recovered include 26 luxury vehicles, high-end jewellery, smartphones, laptops, and incriminating documents.
The suspects are under investigation and will face court proceedings once the probe is complete, Oyewale added.
