Edu Uwem Ibiono Ibom festival kicks off September 1

Coordinator of 2022 Edu Uwem Ibiono Ibom festival and the New Yam Festival, Obong Halo Eton, has revealed that fresh innovations will be infused in this year’s edition to give a better room for all participating clans to showcase their cultural prowess as he promises it will be bigger and better than previous ones.

Briefing the paramount ruler of the local government area, Usoro Inyang, in his palace at Ikot Udom, the coordinator released the activities of the festival which would kick off on September 1, noting that the innovations would widen the scope of the celebration and increase the level of participation and acceptance.

Eton disclosed the festival, which was a two-day celebration, will now be hosted for four days beginning from  September 1 to 4, and will be designed to meet the standard set up by the Akwa Ibom Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
