The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Edo State chapter, has bestowed an award of Excellence Service of Humanity on the Speaker, Edo State Youth Parliament, Rt Hon Osawemwenhio Uwagboe.
Presenting the award to Uwagboe, the chairman of the council, Comrade Osahon Davidson Obasuyi, said in the present time when youths are busy chasing after pecuniary gains, he was after what will be of great benefit to the Nigerian youths and the society at large.
Obasuyi said Nigerian youths need some words of encouragement to bring out the best in them adding that an award such as this would be a moral booster to them to always bring out the best in them.
The NYCN boss said further that those who are contributing their roles to the development of society need to be commended, maintaining that those who have not been given any awards should not relent in their well-doings but should continue, for theirs are on the way coming.
He charged the recipient of the award not to rest on his oars but should double up his efforts in making Nigeria great again as there are a lot of youths out there who need someone to direct them to the right path.
Receiving the award, Uwagboe thanked the state chapter of the NYCN for singling him out for the award.
He said he derives joy in helping humanity just as he added that the award would spur him to keep pushing and contributing to the betterment of society and humanity.
“I have dedicated myself to the service of humanity as that is the most sublime way of making life worth living that during his tenure in office and after he will continue to be of good representation to the Edo people and Nigeria at large,” he said.
