Apparently reacting to the cries by former Green Eagles captain, Segun Odegbami on an SOS message to the debilitating health of his ex-national team colleague, Kadiri Ikhana, whom he said was critically ill and deserves urgent assistance, the chairman of Edo State Sports Commission, Hon Desmond Amadin Enabulele has moved swiftly to assuage the situation.
Hon Enabuele, represented by the Executive Director of the Commission, Hon Frank Ilaboya, yesterday visited the former coach of Enyimba International of Aba at the Irrua Specialist Hospital, Irrua for a first hand information of the situation.
The one-time Africa Coach of the Year had been transferred to the hospital on account of deteriorating health condition but yesterday, he displayed an uncommon courage after meeting with the delegation from Benin.

Coach Ikhana thanked the Edo State Sports Commission boss for the visit and said this gesture will aid his recovery process.
“The award winning coach was in high spirit and recuperating fast. He joked that with the visit, he could be discharged tomorrow and even asked and prayed for Bendel Insurance to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) next season,” Hon. Ilaboya told SportingSun after the visit.
He disclosed that the Edo State Sports Commission and the state government were willing to do anything to aid his recovery process.
Bendel Insurance Coordinator, Hon Felix Osaro and Faith Ojeaga, a member of Edo State FA Board representing Edo Central, accompanied Hon Ilaboya.
