The Edo State Police Command has recovered one of the two Toyota Highlander vehicles stolen during the September 6 robbery at the residence of Hon. Kennedy Odion, factional State Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in Ihie Community, Benin City.
The recovered vehicle, a Toyota Highlander with registration number LSR 729 HY, was traced to the New Benin axis following sustained intelligence gathering and coordinated operations by the Command’s Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU).
The recovery, according to the Command, forms part of ongoing efforts to track down the suspects and dismantle the robbery syndicate responsible for the attack.
Recall that the Commissioner of Police, CP Patrick Daaor, had personally visited the scene after the robbery and directed the VCRU to intensify efforts to track down the suspects and recover the stolen property.
According to the Police, the operation is still ongoing, with operatives closing in on the robbery syndicate.
The Command says efforts are also underway to recover the second stolen vehicle and other items taken during the incident, while identifying and bringing those responsible to justice.

CP Daaor warned criminal elements operating in Edo State that the Police Command would leave no stone unturned in tracking them down and bringing them to justice.
He assured residents that the Command would continue to deploy intelligence, technology, and operational resources to identify, disrupt, and dismantle criminal networks across the state.
He called on residents to remain vigilant and support the police with timely and credible information on suspicious persons, movements, and activities, stressing that community cooperation remains critical to preventing crime and apprehending offenders.
The CP further assured the people of Edo State that the Police would sustain the pressure on criminal elements until those responsible for the robbery are arrested and made to face the full weight of the law.
Reacting to the development, Odion commended the Edo State Police Command for its swift response and professionalism, which led to the recovery of one of the stolen vehicles.
He, however, urged the Command to intensify its efforts to track down and apprehend all those involved in the criminal act, stressing that the perpetrators must be brought to justice.
