Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has said he is ready to collaborate with the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) to develop the state, especially in the area of infrastructure.

The governor stated this while briefing journalists on the position of the projects in Benin City, Edo State capital.

Governor Okpebholo said the most ongoing projects across the state have gotten to 80 percent completion, of which some of the projects would be completed in record time.

Okpebholo said he has no option but to deliver massive infrastructure to Edo State ranging from roads, schools and other areas of critical development.

According to the governor, “most of the projects in Edo State are close to completion and will soon be visible to everyone for the betterment of residents of the state.

“We are here for the people of Edo State and we are poised to deliver dividends of democracy to doorsteps of the people”.

He further lamented that part of the lands meant for the Edo Specialist Hospital has been allegedly taken over by the owner of the Museum of West African Arts leaving paltry 20 percent for the state government.
