The leadership of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) said the union would actively participate in this year’s NLC Harmattan School, to be held from November 23 to 29 at the Public Service Institute, Abuja.
In a statement made available to journalists in Benin City by the State Council of the NLC, three participants led by the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee will represent the Edo NLC Council at the 2025 NLC Harmattan School.
The theme of this year’s Harmattan School is “Workers’ Rights in the Context of Global Economic Crises and Technological Advancement.”

The statement, signed by the Chairman of the Edo NLC Caretaker Committee, Prof. Monday L. Igbafen, emphasised that this year’s NLC Harmattan School is being organised around four courses, namely, Women Leadership, Organisers, Educators and Leadership.
The statement noted that, like other State Councils of the NLC in the country, Edo State Council had sent the names of its participants for the school, and they would be assigned to each of the four courses.
“The deriving of knowledge and training from the Harmattan School would be used to strengthen labour activism and industrial relations in the state,” the statement maintained.
