The Commandant General (CG) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has ordered a Special Intelligence Squad of the corps to comb the forests and arrest the killers of eight civil defence officers.
The CG also ordered the rescue of a Chinese expatriate kidnapped at Okpella in Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State.
Recall that the NSCDC operatives were ambushed in the night on Friday, September 5, 2025, while on duty to ensure the safeguarding of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) and protection of lives and property at the BUA Cement Company in Edo State.
Eyewitness account revealed that the gallant operatives fought vehemently in a three-hour gun duel but eight men lost their lives while four amongst the expatriates working at the quarry section of the company were rescued from the attack by the NSCDC operatives.
The CG had earlier commended the resilience, diligence, and dedication of the NSCDC men who paid the supreme price and lost their lives in the unexpected ambush attack.

“The corps will not succumb to any form of threats or be deterred by the activities of subversive elements and evil perpetrators who carried out the heinous attack but rather be focused and re-strategise in discharging its statutory mandates,” Audi said.
He further noted that the corps will continue to engage the community in civil relations as a non-kinetic approach to tackling the overwhelming security challenges and any other form of crisis in the area.
