In a strategic move to build upon the historic milestone of over N100 billion in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) achieved in 2025, the Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS) has officially on-boarded key stakeholders into an enhanced Central Billing System (CBS).

This upgrade, integrated into the existing Edo Revenue Administration System (ERAS) platform, was showcased during a one-day interactive technical demonstration featuring representatives from various State Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

In his welcome address, the Executive Chairman EIRS, Otunba Oladele Bankole-Balogun, emphasized that the deployment of the improved CBS was a deliberate and strategic decision approved by Governor Monday Okpebholo.

He noted that the system was designed to strengthen the state’s revenue assurance architecture, directly aligning with the administration’s vision of fostering a financially resilient and economically vibrant Edo State.

Reflecting on recent successes, Hon. Bankole-Balogun revealed that through focused leadership, institutional reforms, and the collective efforts of the revenue ecosystem, the state recorded an impressive N109 billion in IGR for 2025.

He described this figure as a significant leap over the 2024 collection, attributing the growth to a commitment to modernizing tax administration.

The Chairman further explained that the EIRS is undergoing continuous reforms to stay in tune with modern realities which empowers the service to more effectively assess, collect, account for, and safeguard state revenue.

He called for total alignment and synergy among MDA staff, urging them to embrace technology, close existing revenue leakages, and uphold the highest standards of accountability.
