The Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District and governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen Monday Okpewholo, has said that when he emerges Governor of Edo State, he would be a leader with the capacity to translate vision and aspiration into reality and make life meaningful for the people of the state.
In a statement issued to newsmen ahead of his consultation visit to the local government areas of the state, the governoship hopeful disclosed that he envisions a future where infrastructural development transforms communities across the three senatorial districts of Edo State.
“I will invest in durable roads, efficient waste management and modernization of public facilities through collaboration with stakeholders to make life meaningful for the people across the state,” Okpebholo said.
According to him, communities will be given priorities to meet the evolving needs of the residents and stop people from drifting to the urban cities.
He therefore called on the people of the state to join him in shaping a new Edo State where everyone, especially those in the rural communities will enjoy the benefits and dividend of democracy.
Senator Okpebholo added that it shall not be business as usual as attention will be shifted to the people as he believes in fostering a compassionate environment for the people
“The vision is to create communities’ spaces and programmes that cater specifically to the needs of the people, ensuring their health, social and recreational needs are met.
He enjoined delegates in the party’s primaries to nominate and join him in championing Edo State that cares and values the people.
“Akpakomeza as I am popularly called, I have drafted a blueprint to fix security, create employment opportunities through partnerships and harness the state potentials as well as reposition the state to be the envy of other states.
“The best thing that will happen to Edo State is Sen. Monday Okpewholo. This is because of what I have to offer.
“I will not just make Edo to be proud, but I will make the people the envy of other states.
“It will be good for the party to nominate me to fix the problems bedeviling the state,” Sen. Okpebholo said.
