The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Edo State chapter, and the Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN) have shown their support for the upcoming Edo Carnival 2026, as the Edo State Government and Peak Rendezvous Entertainment Global Limited officially revealed the theme for the cultural festival.
Contrary to rumours circulating that artistes and key stakeholders in the entertainment industry were not being included in the planning of the carnival, the Edo State chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), led by Opute, and the Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria (PMAN), led by Esther Edopkayi Ibagua, expressed their full backing for the initiative and pledged steadfast support for the success of Edo Carnival 2026.
The groups praised the organisers for their inclusiveness and dedication to promoting the state’s rich cultural heritage.

The unveiling ceremony, held on Sunday, 28 June 2026, at Protea Hotel in Benin City, drew government officials, celebrities, cultural stakeholders, and guests from across the state.
The theme for the highly anticipated carnival, “The Spirit of Edo,” was chosen after extensive consultations among organisers and key stakeholders. According to the organisers, the theme captures the rich cultural heritage, unity, and artistic excellence of the Edo people, while also promoting tourism and showcasing the state’s cultural identity worldwide.
Among the dignitaries present were Hon. Dr. Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu, representatives of Sazy Oil and Gas, Commissioner for Finance Hon. Emmanuel Okoebor, Commissioner for Information Prince Kassim Afegbua, Director-General of Tourism Lady Vivian Elabor, Commissioner of Police CP Monday Agbonika, Director of the Department of State Services Isaac Ikechukwu Chikere, and Nollywood actress and producer Yvonne Jegede.
Organisers expressed confidence that Edo Carnival 2026, under the leadership of Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo and in partnership with Peak Rendezvous Entertainment Global Limited, will present a memorable celebration of Edo’s rich artistic and cultural heritage.
