The Edo State House of Assembly has passed the 2026 Supplementary Appropriation Bill of N939.85 billion presented to the House by Governor Monday Okpebholo for consideration. The passage followed the presentation of the report of the House Standing Committee on Appropriation, Budget and Project Monitoring, chaired by Fada Eigbiremonlen, the member representing Esan Central Constituency.

The House resolved into the Committee of Supply, where it considered and approved the report.

Under the Supplementary Appropriation Bill, capital expenditure accounts for N588,324,843,804.66, while recurrent expenditure stands at N351,525,156,195.34.

After passage, the Speaker, Yekini Idaiye, directed the Clerk of the House, Yahaya Omogbai, to transmit clean copies of the Bill to Governor Monday Okpebholo for assent.

In another development, the Speaker congratulated the revered Oba of Benin on his 10th coronation anniversary.

He commended the monarch’s peaceful reign and the development witnessed under it, and prayed God to grant him long life and good health.

Idaiye also invited members and staff of the Assembly to an Education Summit scheduled to hold at the John Odigie-Oyegun Staff Training Centre from October 21 to 23.
