The member representing Orhionmwon South Constituency in Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), Hon. Bright Iyamu, has said that he has no intention of impeaching the speaker of the house, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku.

He also said that the sanctity of the house is so dear to him and will not want anything to disturb the peace and harmonious relationship that exists therein.

Iyamu said this while reacting to his suspension by the speaker, Blessing Agbebaku.

According to him ” I had no motive to call for the impeachment of the Speaker, nor the intentions to impugn the integrity of the house”

The lawmaker said that he is in the house to represent his constituency and to make laws that will be of great interest to the people of the state.

He added also that his aim is to support the governor of the state, Mr. Godwin Obaseki who has done so well in the past seven and half years to achieve his goal of Making Edo Great Again (MEGA) adding that he cannot really phantom where all these are coming from but he believes that he cannot be distracted.

He called on his supporters and the members of his constituency to maintain peace in the face of provocations, noting that the issues surrounding his suspension will soon be settled peacefully.

He reassured them that normalcy will be restored soon to the house.

Recall, the Speaker of the house, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku suspended three members for allegedly plotting to effect a change of leadership in the house.

The suspended lawmakers are two Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, members and one All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain.
