A student of Aud Comprehensive High School, Adeyoju Oluwatimileyin, has emerged overall winner of the ‘EDE Prize for Language’ competition in Ekiti State.

The event held at St. Louis Grammar School, Ikere-Ekiti, involved St. Louis Grammar School, Baptist Model School, Annunciation School, and Aud Comprehensive High School.

The organiser, Omotayo Adeoye, said it showcased the talents of the students from the four schools, as it was marked with excitement and a strong competitive spirit. On the importance of the competition, he said it promotes indigenous languages and traditions, as well as inspires pride among young Nigerians. “Competitions like this are crucial in preserving our linguistic heritage and encouraging young people to take pride in their cultural identity,” he said. Oluwatimileyin  of Aud Comprehensive High School won the first prize, Kolade Ibidayo of Annunciation School came second, while the third place position went to Olutope Oluwakemisola Victory of the host school.
