The Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, participated in the opening ceremony of the African Energy Efficiency Conference, held today (Wednesday) in Ethiopia.
As a special guest at the event, Dr. Abdullahi joined senior officials, leading African stakeholders, and the Energy Minister of Kenya in conversations centered on the vital role of energy efficiency in driving economic growth and enhancing climate resilience across the continent.

He also held strategic engagements with representatives of the European Union (EU), European Investment Bank (EIB), GIZ, the International Energy Agency (IEA), Agence Française de Développement (AFD), and Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL). These discussions explored partnership opportunities, financing avenues, and supportive policy frameworks aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s contributions and securing impactful outcomes throughout the conference.
Dr. Abdullahi’s participation underscores Nigeria’s strategic commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions and promoting collaborative efforts for Africa’s energy future.
