Two brothers in Obegu-aba, Ozibo, in Ebonyi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, were crushed to death on New Year’s Eve on the Obegu-aba/Ogbaga road in the community.
The incident occurred at 7:30 a.m.
The deceased were riding on a motorcycle when a Toyota Corolla vehicle bearing Ebonyi State government registration number Ebonyi 241-EBGH, travelling at high speed, crushed them.
One of the legs of one deceased and one of the hands of the other were severed from their bodies in the tragedy, while their make and model of motorcycle was damaged beyond repair.

The driver of the Corolla vehicle ran out of the car and fled when the incident occurred.
The tragedy threw residents of the area into mourning.
Minutes after the incident, a team of policemen from the state police command came to the scene and evacuated the bodies of the deceased.
The policemen also towed the Corolla car to their station.
