He urged staff to redouble their commitment to duty at all times, assuring them of government’s commitment to providing necessary tools for optimum public security and safety.

On assumption of office, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Public Security and Safety, Mrs. Queeneth Orebedo, briefed him on the ministry’s vision, mission and mandate, while congratulating him on his appointment. The staff, through the permanent secretary, expressed readiness to work with him towards fulfilling the government’s commitment to ensuring citizens’ safety and well-being.

Earlier in the day, the commissioner hosted the Executive Secretary of Edo State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Jerry Idahosa.

Mr Idahosa pledged his loyalty to work with him. The Commissioner also visited key departments and agencies, including the Solomon Arase Command and Control Centre (C3), Mini Command and Control Post and Edo State Fire Service and directed the respective departments to evolve measures to align with the SHINE agenda of Okpebholo’s administration.

At the Solomon Arase Command and Control Centre, Ebea was briefed on the facility’s potential and challenges. He later visited the state fire service and the mini command control post and directed the officer-in-charge to ensure controlled vehicular parking in the compound to mitigate security and safety concerns.

Observers said Ebea’s resumption marks a new chapter in the ministry’s efforts to enhance public security and safety in Edo State.

His leadership and vision are expected to drive meaningful progress in the state’s safety and security landscape.
