Easybuy targets 10,000 Nigerians in new Sales Talent Programme to drive jobs, financial inclusion

By Chinenye Anuforo

Easybuy, smartphone and electronics financing provider in Africa, has unveiled plans to recruit up to 10,000 business developers across Nigeria under its newly launched Easybuy Sales Talent Program, an initiative aimed at expanding job opportunities and promoting financial inclusion.

The programme, which will run throughout 2026, is designed to empower thousands of Nigerians with income opportunities while supporting the company’s expanding Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) operations across the continent.

Easybuy operates through thousands of partner stores across Nigeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Tanzania, enabling customers to purchase mobile phones and home appliances through flexible installment payment options popularly known as “pay small small.”

The company said the Sales Talent Program is structured as a revolving initiative that will attract a wide range of participants including sales professionals, young graduates, stay-at-home mothers, Point-of-Sale (POS) operators and SIM registration agents.

Participants in the programme will receive structured training, a monthly base pay and commission opportunities that could run into hundreds of thousands of naira, with top performers potentially earning up to one million naira.

Chief Executive Officer of Newedge Finance Limited, Jessica Ugwuoke, said the initiative reflects Easybuy’s commitment to empowering Nigerians while expanding access to finance.
According to her, the programme is designed to create a mutually beneficial relationship between the company and Nigerians seeking economic opportunities.

“This win-win partnership with Nigerians, on whose support we’ve come this far, reflects our continuous investment in people. Selected applicants of the Easybuy Sales Talent Program would be empowered with training and the opportunity to become financially independent,” Ugwuoke said.
She added that the initiative aligns with Easybuy’s vision of providing equal financial access and improving livelihoods across the continent.

Industry analysts said the programme comes at a time when Nigeria continues to grapple with unemployment challenges, particularly among young people.
Data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) indicated that youth unemployment among Nigerians aged 15–24 stood at 6.5 per cent in the second quarter of 2024, a figure many analysts believe remains a significant concern.
By creating structured income pathways, Easybuy aims to combine commercial expansion with social impact while contributing to job creation and entrepreneurship development.

The company noted that beyond job creation, the programme is expected to stimulate broader economic activity by increasing household earnings, encouraging consumer spending and strengthening micro-entrepreneurship across the country.
Economic projections by Trading Economics indicate that Nigeria’s unemployment rate could remain between 4.8 per cent and 5.0 per cent through 2027 and 2028, highlighting the importance of private sector-led employment initiatives.
Since launching operations in Lagos in 2019, Easybuy has expanded rapidly, positioning itself as one of the major players in Africa’s growing BNPL sector.

Industry reports showed that the BNPL market is projected to grow from $1.42 billion in 2024 to more than $2.61 billion by 2030, reflecting increasing demand for flexible financing solutions across emerging markets.
Easybuy currently operates through a nationwide network of over 2,000 sales agents and more than 4,500 partner stores, enabling millions of customers to access essential digital devices through installment payments.
As part of the Sales Talent Program, the company said participants will be equipped with structured sales training, digital tools and clearly defined earning pathways designed to accelerate financial independence.

Interested applicants can submit their CVs through the careers section of the Easybuy website or create a TikTok video explaining why they are the best fit for the programme using the hashtags #EasybuySalesTalent and #MillionNairaChallenge.
According to the company, creators of the weekly top 10 most-viewed videos will qualify for further offer discussions as part of the recruitment process.
Easybuy said the programme is open to applicants from diverse backgrounds across Nigeria who are interested in building careers in sales while contributing to the company’s mission of expanding access to finance across Africa.
