Most Rev. Dr Williams Oluwarotimi Aladekugbe, Archbishop of Ibadan Ecclesiastical Province and Bishop of Ibadan North Anglican Diocese, has described Easter as the focal point of Christianity.
In his 2025 Easter message, shared with the press on Sunday, April 20, by Diocesan Communicator Chief Olugbemiga Ayoade, the Archbishop stressed Easter’s significance.
“Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the focal point of Christianity. It is the essence of Christianity. If we take away resurrection from Christianity, our service is in vain,” he said.
Aladekugbe noted that Christ’s resurrection brings salvation, forgiveness, and hope for eternal life, unique among prophets.
The Archbishop congratulated Christians on Easter 2025, praying, “All that was dead in everyone’s life will be restored in Jesus’ mighty name.”
He underscored that Christ’s resurrection ensures eternal life for true believers.
