As Christians in Benue and all over the world celebrate the 2025 Easter, the Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Steve Yabanet, has ordered the deployment of adequate security around public places, especially worship centres.

The CP, in a statement signed by the command’s PPRO CSP Catherine Anene and made available to newsmen in Makurdi on Sunday, felicitated the Christian community on the Easter celebrations.

He called on Christians to pray for peace and stability of the state, as the command remains committed to the fight against crime.

He encouraged Christians to continue to embrace peace, unity and goodwill in their communities, as the Christian religion extols.

The CP ordered all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Tactical Commanders to provide adequate security around churches and event centres and emphasised the need to intensify patrols and surveillance to prevent breakdown of law and order.

He advised members of the public to cooperate with the police and other security agencies as they go about securing their communities.

He also urged the Benue people to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies around them.
