Nigeria’s Super Eagles’ AFCON 2023 Group A opponent, Equatorial Guinea, will face Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in a friendly game.

The game will be held on Monday, 8 January 2024 as part of preparations for both teams for the AFCON.

Equatorial Guinea will hope to maintain their unbeaten run when they face the five-time Africans champions.

They are unbeaten in their last nine games, recording five wins and four draws.

After the friendly game against Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea will open their AFCON campaign against the Super Eagles on Sunday, 14 January.

Four days later they will take on Guinea-Bissau before ending the group phase with a clash against hosts Côte d’Ivoire on January 22.

Next year’s AFCON would be Equatorial Guinea’s third appearance after making their debut at the 2012 edition as co-hosts with Gabon.
