E-Lawyer Nigeria has partnered Miva Open University and Ascend Global to host a career fair aimed at connecting students, graduates and young professionals with employers, recruiters and industry leaders.
The 2026 Career Fair Festival, scheduled for September 8 at Miva Open University in Lagos, is designed to bridge the widening gap between talent and career opportunities in Africa’s emerging workforce.
Founder of E-Lawyer Nigeria, Mina Hope Obeten, said the festival would provide participants with opportunities to learn, network, develop relevant skills and explore career opportunities across different industries.
She said the partnership with Miva Open University would bring the education sector into discussions on employability and the future of work, particularly as technology continues to reshape how people learn and work.
“The partnership will create opportunities for participants to explore the relationship between education, skills development and career readiness, while encouraging young people to think more intentionally about the skills and experiences required in today’s economy,” Obeten said.
She said the involvement of Ascend Global would broaden the programme to cover international career opportunities, professional visibility, leadership and career mobility.
According to her, the growing participation of African professionals in the global labour market makes access to international networks and opportunities increasingly important.
Obeten said the festival would build on E-Lawyer Nigeria’s career development and professional education initiatives by creating a broader platform for career discovery and advancement.
She said participants would engage with professionals and organisations through career conversations, employer engagement, networking, skills development and access to opportunities.
“We have always believed that talent should not be limited by a lack of access to information, networks or opportunity. The E-Lawyer Career Fair Festival is our response to that gap,” she said.
“We are creating a space where young people can move beyond simply looking for jobs to understanding how to build sustainable careers, develop relevant skills and connect with the right people and organisations.”
