President Bola Tinubu, has approved the appointment of Dr. Ahmed Dunoma as the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ahmed’s appointment is sequel to the sexual harassment allegation against the erstwhile permanent secretary of the ministry, Ambassador Adamu Lamuwa, by an aide to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Simisola Fajemirokun-Ajayi.
Prior to Ahmed’s appointment, the immediate past Nigerian Ambassador to Cuba, Ambassador Benaoyagha Okoyen, was the Director Overseeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary. Dunoma, according to the spokesperson of the ministry, Ambassador Eche Abu-Obe, is the immediate past permanent secretary, Ministry of Youth Development. Abu-Obe disclosed that Ahmed, who resumed duty in the ministry on July 23, 2024, was born on 15th October, 1968 in Maiduguri, Bornu State and he is a doctorate degree holder.
He stated that Donuma had an impeccable education and meritorious career, having served in various capacities in public organisations and the federal civil service.
