The Chairman and Publisher of The Sun Publishing, Neya Kalu, has been nominated for the Daily Times Nigeria @100 Trailblazer Award.
Kalu, who accepted the nomination, called the honour an added significance amid the newspaper’s celebration of its century of service.
Speaking in an acceptance letter dated September 22, 2026, addressed to the Chairman, Folio Media Group and Publisher, Daily Times of Nigeria, Fidelis Anosike, and the Chairman, Times Heroes Award Council, Bolaji Okusaga, Kalu expressed gratitude to the Board, Management, Organising Committee and key stakeholders of Daily Times for the honour bestowed on her.
She said, “Thank you for formally notifying me of my selection as a recipient of the DTN@100 Trailblazer Award.
“I accept this honour with genuine gratitude, and sincerely thank the Board, Management, Organising Committee, Times Heroes Award Council and other key stakeholders for this acknowledgement. Coming as the Daily Times Nigeria marks a full century of service, this award carries added significance for me.
“Through initiatives like the DTN@100 celebration, the Times Heroes Awards and the Nigerian Grand Book, a lasting record is being built — one that also helps reinforce positive narratives about our country for the generations coming after us.
“The Daily Times has long played a vital role in shaping public discourse, safeguarding institutional memory, and keeping the nation informed, and that legacy deserves to be recognised.”
While confirming her attendance at the DTN@100 Celebration on November 2, 2026, Kalu requested protocol, accreditation and logistical information ahead of the event.
“I am happy to confirm that I accept the award and will attend the DTN@100 Celebration on Tuesday, 3 November 2026,” she said.
Kalu also offered her congratulatory message to Daily Times Nigeria on its centenary milestone, wishing it a successful historic celebration.
