DSS arrests suspected gunrunner in Cross River with 832 live ammunition

Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), have arrested one Kelvin Ebikeniye Dugo, a suspected gunrunner, at Ivara Esu Estate in Odukpani Local Government Area, Cross River State.

His arrest Security sources say followed credible intelligence on Dugo’s plan to buy 832 rounds of live ammunition from one Azenda Barnabas (alias Jagaban), another suspected gunrunner based in Aliade, Benue State.

The operatives were said to have intercepted Dugo moments after he received the consignment, which was concealed in food items and Recovered 832 rounds of ammunition and two empty AK-47 magazines”.

The source said “The DSS has intensified its pursuit of such criminals, launching sustained operations across the states of the Federation.
“This successful operation is one of many ongoing nationwide efforts, highlighting the DSS’ firm commitment to dismantling gun running syndicates and curbing illegal arms proliferation,” declared the source.
