DSS arrests suspect linked to attack on Peter Obi, others in Edo

The Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended a suspect named Udeme Sunday Stephen for his alleged role in the attack on the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and chieftains of the African Democratic Congress in Benin, Edo State.

Channels Television reports that the suspect was arrested following a thorough investigation.

The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Yunusa Tanko, had raised the alarm after Obi and others were attacked at the residence of a chieftain of the ADC, John Odigie-Oyegun, on Tuesday last week.

Tank added that the incident occurred shortly after they returned from the ADC secretariat.
