DP World and Nigeria-based Tropical General Investments (TGI) Group have partnered to strengthen logistics and supply chain operations in Nigeria and create opportunities for expansion across West Africa.
Under the partnership, DP World Logistics Limited will continue its existing operations in Nigeria, including road freight and contract logistics, while expanding its services and exploring new offerings such as fourth-party logistics (4PL).
The collaboration combines DP World’s global logistics and supply chain expertise with TGI Group’s extensive distribution network, market knowledge and operational experience.
The companies said the partnership would help improve the movement of goods, strengthen supply chains and connect Nigerian businesses more efficiently to regional and global markets.
TGI Group will also benefit from logistics and operational support from DP World, aimed at improving supply chain efficiency and optimising its operations.
According to the companies, DP World Logistics already has a strong presence in Nigeria, particularly in market access for the healthcare and consumer sectors, alongside its growing logistics operations. Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, DP World Africa, Mohammed Akoojee, said Nigeria remained a critical market for the future of trade in Africa.

He said the partnership would strengthen supply chains and open up new opportunities for businesses in Nigeria and beyond.
Akoojee disclosed that, subject to regulatory approval, TGI would become a shareholder in DP World Logistics’ Nigerian business, while DP World would retain majority ownership.
He said: “Together, we will strengthen supply chains, improve the movement of goods and unlock new opportunities for growth in Nigeria and beyond.”
Vice Chairman of TGI Group, Farouk Gumel, said the partnership reflected the companies’ ambition to reshape trade and logistics in Africa.
He said combining DP World’s global expertise with TGI’s market knowledge and distribution network would help build more resilient supply chains and improve regional connectivity.
The partnership will initially focus on Nigeria but is expected to provide a platform for expansion into other West African markets.
