Comptroller-General of Nigeria customs Service, Col. Hameed Ali (rtd.), has informed the Senate that he would not appear before the lawmakers on Wednesday, March 15.
The Customs CG, in a letter to the Upper Chamber said he could appear before the lawmakers on the said date as it coincided with the routine management of the service.
The Customs boss requested that the Senate fix another date for his appearance.
Ali’s letter requesting for another date for his appearance was read to lawmakers at the plenary, on Tuesday.
The letter was signed by an Assistant Comptroller-General.
It was gathered that members of the Red Chanber lampooned Ali for relegating the Senate and for failing to personally sign the letter.
