Dolly Parton’s younger sister, Freida Parton, has dismissed reports of a family feud over the late country music icon’s estate, insisting that members of the Parton/Owens family remain united.
Freida made the clarification on Instagram on Wednesday, September 23, following reports of tension surrounding Dolly’s nephew, Bryan Seaver, and the management of the singer’s estate.
“I’ll say this and this only: there is no feud within our family,” Freida wrote. “No one among the Parton/Owens family is fighting over Dolly’s estate.”
Her statement comes after Seaver, who had served as head of security for Dolly’s properties and was chosen to announce her death, was removed from the security arrangement following the singer’s death.
Dolly’s longtime manager, Danny Nozell, subsequently sought legal protection against Seaver, with the estate accusing him in court filings of making threatening statements.
Seaver has disputed the characterisation of his messages as threats. A Tennessee judge has since granted a temporary restraining order against him and his private security company.
Addressing concerns about her nephew, Freida said the family had not turned against him.
“We all love Bryan, just as we all love each other,” she wrote, before concluding: “I love you all!!”
The statement comes amid heightened public interest in the affairs of Dolly’s estate following her death at the age of 80 on August 25. The dispute involving Seaver and the estate has fuelled reports of tension within the wider family, which Freida has now publicly rejected.
