The Do Foundation has secured a partnership with the Bayelsa State Ministry of Education on its Hall of Fame project.
The announcement of the partnership was made by the Commissioner for Education, Dr Gentle Emelah, when a team from Do Foundation, led by its founder, Dr Dise Ogbise Goddy Harry, visited him in his office.
The founder of Do Foundation, Dr Barr Dise Ogbise Goddy Harry, disclosed that the Hall of Fame project is to highlight the contributions of women who have contributed positively in the gender space through their educational achievements and are now role models to both the boy child and the girl child.
According to the team of experts that visited Dr Emelah, the essence of the visit is to seek for possible areas of collaboration and partnership as they embark on the project which will boost confidence of girls in schools to live up to their dreams in the educational space as the hall of Fame when unveiled will showcase great female educationists that have excelled in the educational sector and have used their knowledge to reduce cases of gender based violence.
The team requested a space where the great female educationists will be showcased, and students will, from time to time, walk in to see and read about the stories of these great women.
In his response, Dr Emelah confirmed that the Ministry of Education will collaborate with Do Foundation.
He noted that stories of great men would inspire children to attain greater heights in life.
“When children hear stories of great men, it will inspire them to be great in life”.
