… Tinubu promises FG’s partnership with traditional institutions

Ilesha in Osun State was agog on Friday as Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup was crowned the 41st Owa Obokun of Ijesaland.
President Bola Tinubu was represented at the coronation by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola. Governor Ademola Adeleke of the state was the chief host at the ceremony.
Dignitaries that also graced the event, included former president Olusegun Obasanjo; former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, and his wife Titi; former Vice President, Namadi Sambo; former Osun State governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola; former Minister of state for defence, Erelu Olusola Obada; and a business mogul, Dr. Deji Adeleke. Eminent royal fathers in attendance included Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; Soun Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Olaoye; and Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdurosheed Akanbi.
Tinubu, in his address, renewed his promise to partner with traditional institution to ensure that development is inclusive and enduring. He also urged Oba Haastrup to work towards ensuring peace and progress of the country.
The Federal Government, according to him, has approved the release of intervention funds for the rehabilitation of Ibadan-Ife-Ilesa Expressway.
Tinubu stated: “I charge Your Majesty to continue to be a pillar of unity and a bridge between the past and the promise of tomorrow. Our nation yearns for peace, equity, and progress, and traditional rulers like you, have a vital role to play in achieving this vision.” Governor Ademola Adeleke reassured of his commitment to the overall development of Ijesaland.
He said: “In line with our promise, Ilesa is now a university town. Over 50 courses are already accredited. We are building the internal infrastructure within the university. The university management is building a credible global institution under the direction of our administration.” Oba Haastrup showed gratitude to the eminent Nigerians that graced the coronation as well as all sons and daughters of Ijeshaland that worked for the success of the ceremony.
