The former Governor of Zamfara State and the Senator representing Zamfara West senatorial district, Senator Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, has announced the return of All Progressives Congress (APC) to power in the state come 2027, insisting that dignified members of the party who have recorded outstanding contributions to the growth of the country can never be tagged opposition.
He stated this at his residence in Talata Mafara Local Government Area where the Zamfara State APC stakeholders meeting was held on Saturday.
Speaking, the state leader of APC in Zamfara, Senator Yari, said, our presence today before the stakeholders, members and supporters of the party is to inform them of our numerous arrangements which were put in place to move the party forward.
We brought them together to build confidence and assurance that APC remains the ruling party in Nigeria and would soon take over the leadership of Zamfara State come 2027.
“My hope is that come 2027 general elections, APC would emerge the winner in Zamfara State and lead the people of the state, we cannot continue to be called opposition,” Yari said.
The APC party chairman, Honourable Umar Tukur Danfulani, urged all members of the party to be prayerful and remain focused and committed to the course of the party with the belief that the party would take over power in the state at the 2027 polls.

The stakeholders meeting had over six thousand people in attendance, the four thousand capacity of Abdulaziz Yari Hall in Talata Mafara was full to the brim, the impressive mass attendees reaffirmed their commitment and loyalty to APC, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the state leadership of the party.
Present at the meeting were Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, Minister of State for Defence, Hon. Abdulmalik Zannan-Bungudu, member representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency, Honourable Dr. Sulaiman Abubakar Gumi, member representing Gummi/Bukkuyum Federal Constituency and Senator Sahabi Ya’u currently serving Zamfara North.
Others were Bashir Yuguda, former Minister of Finance and Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Malam Ibrahim Wakala, former Deputy Governor to Abdulaziz Yari,
Muktar Ahmed Anka, former Deputy Governor to Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi,
Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha, former Deputy Governor to Matawalle and former Senator Gusau Central, Hon. Muktar Shehu Idris and former Finance Commissioner to Yari, former Senator Tijjani Yahaya Kaura, Zamfara Northern Zone.
The stakeholders meeting witnessed the formal endorsement of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the sole candidate for Zamfara State APC come 2027 with Senator Sahabi Ya’u currently serving Zamfara North moving a motion for adoption of President Tinubu as a proven candidate of Zamfara APC and was seconded by Hon. Abdulmalik Zannan-Bungudu, member representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency.
