DG NYSC seeks cordial relationship with employers of labour in Kebbi

The Director General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Brigadier -General Olakunle O. Nafiu has sought for tight relationship with the employers of labour in Kebbi and the scheme towards nation’s building.

 

Nafiu, who stated this during the 2025 NYSC/Corps employers’s Workshop held in Birnin Kebbi,noted that the annual Corps employers workshop enable them to exchange ideas that would enhanced the scheme operations.

 

 

The DG, represented by the Kebbi State NYSC Coordinator, Alhaji Bala Dabo, explained that the previous workshops have really assisted the scheme to take development decisions which have positive impact on the scheme.

 

 

According to him, “the workshop is always the occasion to engage employers in strategic communication, harmonization of views and opportunity to explain policy directions.

 

“From addressing gray areas, to enhancing healthy relationship between our various organizations, the NYSC/Corps Employers’ Workshops always produced ideas and recommendations that are factored into the operations of the Scheme. I am convinced that the 2025 workshop would not be any different “.

 

Nafiu who highlighted procedures of the workshop, rules guiding the NYSC for the both Corps and employers, suggested that participants should come up with implementable solutions to the numerous problems that challenge corps administration and proffer solutions.

 

 

 

In his remark,, Kebbi State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Comrade Nura Bala Fingilla noted that employers of Corps members play vital roles to ensure fulfilment of their objectives.

 

He explained that the purpose of the extablishment of the NYSC was to fostering unity and integration among young Nigerians, irrespective of their cultural and geographical backgrounds.

 

“It also seeks to equip them with essential life skills and values, and one of these critical values is maintaining a healthy work/life balance. As employers of corps members, you play a pivotal role in fulfilling these objectives.

 

 

“Corps members who dedicated their time and energy to serve our Nation, should not be overwhelmed to the point where their work/life balance is compromised.

 

“The well-being of these young patriots is in our hands, and by promoting a healthy work/life balance, you contribute to their overall growth and development.”_ He added

 

 

“This forum offers a good medium for extensive discussion with key actors in the affairs of NYSC with a view to achieving the mandate of the scheme in terms of quality service delivery.” _ Commissioner said
