Delta State Launches Scouts for SDGs, Emphasizes Youth Engagement and Localized Agenda 2030

It was a historic ceremony at West End Mixed Secondary School, Asaba, as Delta State became the first state to officially launch Scouts for Sustainable Development Goals in Nigeria.

Scouts for SDGs is a unique strategy to engage youngsters in the development of their communities while providing an opportunity for them to learn valuable skills such as courage, kindness,community service, leadership, problem solving, and brotherhood.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on SDGs, Diana Ereyitomi Eyo-Enoette, also received an investiture as the State Headquarters Commissioner, Scouts for SDGs Delta State.

Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services, and Girl Child Development, Ms. Orode Uduaghan, who was decorated as Ambassador Scouts for SDGs, emphasized the state’s commitment to making SDG indicators Delta-specific by analyzing possible linkages and synergizing to localize Agenda 2030 producing a “Delta-oriented” approach for future SDG implementation.

This milestone marks a significant step forward for Delta State in its commitment to the SDGs and Governor Sheriff F.O Oborevwori’s dedication to empowering future generations.
