A kidnap victim has been rescued from the boot of a get away car in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The victim was tied and kept in the boot of the car before operatives rescued him after his abductors abandoned him and took to their heels.
Public Relations Officer of the Command DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed this on Wednesday, said 50 rounds of live cartridges were recovered from the car.
He said operatives had received information that the hoodlums stormed the victim’s residence to whisk him, adding that the police acted swiftly to chase the hoodlums to the point where they abandoned the car after exchange of fire.
Edafe also confirmed the arrest of two suspects, one Felix Itoje, a 32-year-old mechanic and 22-year old Israel Adam who is suspected to be the armorer of the group that allegedly kidnapped a female victim also in Agbarho.

According to him, another suspect, one Onyeka Ozoh (30), was also arrested in Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state for offense of kidnapping.
He said the suspected kidnapper was hibernating somewhere in Issele-Uku, noting that operatives were detailed to the hideout and arrested the 30-year old suspect and recovered a red coloured Toyota Camry without registration number.
“The suspect claimed that he bought the vehicle at Onitsha at N1,500,000, and that all original documents were with the previous owner.
“However, investigations later revealed that the vehicle belongs to one man (name withheld) who was kidnapped on August 20, 2022 at Ozubulu in Anambra State, released after a ransom was paid and the vehicle taken from him.
Suspect will be transferred to Anambra Police Command for further investigation,” he added.
