The Delta State Police Command has identified and arrested four policemen caught on video counting wads of cash suspected to be linked to extortion.
Spokesman of the command, DSP Bright Edafe disclosed this in an X post on Tuesday.
On Monday, a viral video showing a police team counting wads of cash inside a police van marked ‘Nigeria Police Force, Asaba Division’ circulated on social media.
The video sparked outrage amid insinuations of extortion, with many netizens calling on the police to launch a probe into the incident.

Reacting on Tuesday, Edafe described the video as embarrassing.
He disclosed that the police team involved comprised two senior officers and two inspectors.
The police spokesman said, “The policemen in the embarrassing video have been identified and arrested.
“They appeared before the CP today.
“The four personnel, two of them who are senior officers, have been queried while the two inspectors have been detained and awaiting an orderly room trial.”
