Harrison Ukperajoba, a 28-year-old Nigerian, has fled his under mysterious circumstances community after being brutally tortured and left in a coma due to his sexual orientation.

Ukperajoba, a Business Education graduate from Delta State University, has faced severe challenges in the community including social ostracization, threats, and violence because of his identity. His recent ordeal began when he was accused of being gay and handed over to a traditional ruler by community members.

According to sources, Ukperajoba was subjected to intense questioning and subsequently beaten by some of those present. The violence quickly escalated, resulting in a brutal assault that left him unconscious and in critical condition.

Despite suffering from severe injuries, Ukperajoba managed to mysteriously escape from the palace grounds.

As at press time, some community members speculate that he was assisted by sympathizers who feared for his safety, while others believe he may have regained consciousness and fled on his own.

Ukperajoba’s story is a stark reminder of the dangers faced by LGBTQ+ individuals in countries where homosexuality is not only frowned upon but criminalized.
