Two practicing journalists in Delta State, Joe Ogbodu and Prince Amour Udemude, have regretted an October 24, 2019 publication which bothered on defamation of character of one Sam Ogrih.

The journalists had ran a story about oil crisis in Uzere community in Isoko South Local Government Area of the state, accusing Ogrih of funding and sponsoring some armed Uzere community youths who styled themselves as ‘Freedom Fighters’ and had unleashed mayhem on the community.

A defamatory suit was brought against the journalists by Ogrih, who sued Joe Ogbodu, the Managing Editor of BIGPEN NIGERIA (Online newspaper) and Amour Udemude, at the magistrate court 4, Asaba, the state capital.

In their apologies, the two journalists “regretted the the publication after re-examining the facts of the story and hereby apologize to Sam Ogri for any inconveniences the story may have caused his reputation.”

They urged the general public to disregard the said story, noting that it was not intentional and that the publication is “deeply regretted.”
