The election of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has been affirmed by the Court of Appeal in Lagos.
In upholding the election Oborevwori who is the candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP), the appellate court dismissed the appeal brought by Ovie Omo-Agege of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
Oborevwori had scored 360,234 votes to be declared winner of the March 18, 2023 election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
His closest challenger, Omo-Agege who is the immediate past deputy president of the Senate scored 240,229 votes.
The Delta State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba, had on September 29, confirmed the election of Oborevwori as the duly elected governor of the state.
