Chairman of Ifiekporo Community, Dr. Monday Agbeyi, has lauded the Warri South Local Government Chairman, Weyinmi Agbateyiniro, for his transformative development efforts, particularly the ongoing construction of a major bridge in Ifiekporo. Agbeyi described the project as a pivotal step in boosting socio-economic activities within the council area.

During a site visit to the bridge construction over the weekend, Agbeyi expressed his admiration for what he termed an ‘unprecedented’ infrastructure project.

“Throughout my years of travelling across Nigeria, I have never witnessed a local government undertaking such a capital-intensive project. This bridge will connect Ifiekporo to other riverine communities, significantly enhancing their economic prospects,” he said.

The bridge, hailed as a first-of-its-kind initiative, is expected to alleviate transportation challenges, reduce river-crossing accidents and streamline the movement of goods and farm produce. Agbeyi emphasised that Agbateyiniro’s vision aligns with the M.O.R.E. Agenda of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborewhore, which prioritises infrastructure development across the state.

“We commend Agbateyiniro for this gigantic infrastructure,” Agbeyi said, assuring the contractor of the community’s full support for the project’s timely completion.

Furthermore, he expressed support for Agbateyiniro’s ambitious plan to develop Ifiekporo into a residential estate, reminiscent of Lagos’ Banana Island.

He acknowledged the partnership with High Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, WEMA Bank and other investors, highlighting their crucial role in realising this vision.

“The people of Ifiekporo are fully behind Agbateyiniro’s visionary plans,” he affirmed, expressing optimism for the community’s future development.
