Defence Minister appoints Dana Motors CEO, Hathiramani, Special Ambassador

The CEO of Dana Motors Ltd, Mr. Jacky Hathiramani, has been honoured with a special appointment as Special Ambassador by the Ministry of Defence.

A letter personally signed by the Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd), and addressed to Hathiramani , explained that the appointment was in recognition of his long- standing contributions to humanitarian causes, youth empowerment, economic development, and national growth in Nigeria.

The recognition is a testament to Mr. Hathiramani’s years of commitment to using his business platforms and conglomerate to positively impact lives, support communities, and contribute meaningfully to the Nigerian economy through investments, employment generation, corporate social responsibility, and sustainable development initiatives.

Over the years, the Dana Motors boss has remained at the forefront of several impactful initiatives spanning transportation, mobility, youth support, business development, and social interventions, earning widespread respect within both the corporate and humanitarian spaces.

As a member of the Board of Trustees of the Patriots Veterans Welfare Initiative (PVWI) and a respected member of the Nigerian business community, he has consistently championed initiatives focused on national development, innovation, and long-term value creation.

Speaking on the appointment, Hathiramani expressed appreciation for the recognition and reaffirmed his commitment to doing even more for the Armed Forces and Nigerians in general.

“I am deeply honoured by this recognition, and I sincerely appreciate the confidence reposed in me. Nigeria has given us tremendous opportunities as a business and as individuals, and it remains important for us to continue contributing positively to national growth, empowerment, and social impact. I accept this appointment with humility and a renewed commitment to continue supporting initiatives that uplift lives and create meaningful change across the country,” he stated.

He further emphasized the importance of collaboration between the private sector and humanitarian institutions to drive sustainable development and empower future generations.

In his capacity as Special Ambassador, Hathiramani will help drive awareness for the ministry’s project among high-net-worth individuals, corporate organisations, and philanthropic institutions, while also facilitating strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagement to support its success.

The honour further reinforces his growing reputation as a business leader committed not only to corporate excellence but also to creating lasting social and economic impact in Nigeria.
