Defamation: Natasha granted N50m bail after no-guilty plea

Suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was granted a N50 million bail on Thursday after pleading not guilty to alleged defamation.

The senator representing Kogi Central was granted bail by Justice Chizoba Orji of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja.

Akpoti-Uduaghan was granted bail with one surety, who must have a landed property in Abuja and must be a responsible resident of the FCT.

The case was subsequently adjourned to September 23, 202,5, for trial.

Among those present in the courtroom were Akpoti-Uduaghan’s husband, former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, activist Aisha Yesufu, and supporters.
