Data localisation, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and the future of financial technology will take centre stage as technology and business leaders converge in Lagos for the inaugural GrowthX by Techeconomy conference.
The conference, scheduled for Thursday, September 24, 2026, at The Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos, will bring together stakeholders across technology, financial services, digital infrastructure, cybersecurity and fintech.
The event, themed “Driving Digital Growth Through Innovation and Collaboration,” will commence at 9:00am, while the Technology Innovation and Leadership Awards (TiLAwards) gala night will hold later in the day from 4:00pm.
Among the confirmed speakers are the Chief Technology Officer of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Blessing Ehize; Chief Executive Officer of Open Access Data Centres (OADC), Dr Ayotunde Coker; Chief Executive Officer of UniCloud Africa, Dr Krishnan Ranganath; and Deputy Managing Director of eTranzact International Plc, Hakeem Adeniji-Adele.
Others include Vice President of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), Abraham Durosanwo; Founder and CEO of Trade Lenda, Adeshina Adewumi; Founder and CEO of Bridge57 Solutions Limited, Roseline Ilori; Chief Information Security Officer of NPF Microfinance Bank, Philip Aiwekhoe; and producer of The Fintex Show on Nigeria Info 99.3 FM, Rarzack Olaegbe.
Also confirmed are Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Cashwise Finance, Elsie Godwin; Squadron Leader Adefola Amoo (Rtd), founder of GridCodes; and Chief Executive Officer of Nearpays Technologies, Victor Daniyan.
The organisers said the speakers represent different segments of Nigeria’s digital economy, including banking technology, data centres, cloud infrastructure, SME finance, data protection, cybersecurity, digital payments and fintech.
A major highlight of the conference will be a panel discussion on “Data Localisation, Identity & the Future of Secure Payments in Nigeria.”

The session will examine the implications of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s recent data localisation directive on the digital payments ecosystem and how the country can maintain secure and resilient payment systems while supporting innovation and global digital connectivity.
Another panel, “Building AI for Africa: Innovation, Infrastructure and Inclusive Growth,” will focus on Africa’s transition from merely adopting artificial intelligence to developing homegrown AI solutions capable of addressing the continent’s economic and social challenges.
The third panel, “Fintech at a Crossroads? Innovation, Regulation and the Cost of Scaling in Nigeria,” will examine the challenges confronting fintech companies as they seek to balance innovation, regulatory requirements and sustainable growth.
Speaking on the conference, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Techeconomy, Peter Oluka, said the event was designed to produce practical conversations for stakeholders across the digital economy.
“We want the conversations at GrowthX to be useful to the people building, regulating, funding and using digital services in Nigeria. The speakers bring different experiences to the table, and that is important because digital growth does not depend on one sector alone,” he said.
The conference will feature keynote presentations, a lead presentation, panel sessions, a fireside chat and an exhibition where businesses will have the opportunity to showcase their products, services and technology solutions.
Attendance is free, but participants are required to pre-register.
The event will also feature the TiLAwards gala night, which will recognise individuals and organisations contributing to the growth of Nigeria’s technology and digital economy.
