The 2026 season of the Basketball Africa League continued on Saturday at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria, with two decisive fixtures further shaping the Kalahari Conference standings.

In the opening game, Dar City Basketball Club extended their impressive debut campaign to 2–0 after edging Nairobi City Thunder 90–85 in a closely contested encounter.

David Michineau delivered a standout performance, recording a game-high 39 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. He received solid support from Nisre Zouzoua, who contributed 20 points and five rebounds as Dar City held their nerve in the closing stages.

The evening clash saw a repeat of the 2024 BAL Final, with Petro de Luanda producing a dominant display to defeat Al Ahly Ly 104–90.

Petro de Luanda controlled proceedings from the outset, inspired by Childe Dundao, who scored 27 points, while Milton Valente added 19 points on an efficient 9-of-11 shooting. The Angolan champions thus opened their 2026 campaign in emphatic fashion.

Action in the Kalahari Conference resumes at the same venue, with RSSB Tigers set to face Petro de Luanda, while Nairobi City Thunder will take on hosts Johannesburg Giants later in the day.
